Chenghuang Pavilion is known as one of the most recognizable landmarks in Hangzhou and Wushan Square shines as one of the most enticing hubs of festivities, trades and events. Hangzhounese and tourists from all over the world flock in to experience a harmonious blend of the quintessential faces of ancient and modern China.

 

Hangzhou was China's capital during the Southern Song Dynasty more than 800 years ago, and Hangzhou’s urban Hefang Street has many shops, restaurants and taverns that represent its place in history. Hefang Street has stood the test of time, surviving through the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Today it is still a prosperous marketplace. Most of the businesses and shops in Hefang Street are over 100 years old. Hefang Street wasn’t only the heart of old Hangzhou but was also the commercial center in ancient China. Walking along Hefang Street, you can enjoy shopping and snacking. Hefang Old Street also displays a variety of unique Chinese crafts, such as land-blown sugar candy, paper-cutting, and hand-made dough figurines.

l   Southern Song Dynasty Royal Kiln Museum

Built over the remains of the Jiaotanxia Official Kiln ,it is the first of its kind to display pottery and porcelain. The Southern Song Dynasty Royal Kiln Museum was opened to the public in 1992 and was expanded in 2002 and now the museum displays the products of the official kilns of Southern Song Dynasty, highlighting their charms and delicate beauty. It has been praised as one of the "Outstanding Examples of Contemporary Zhejiang Museums”.

 

Eight-Diagran Field was shaped in the Southern Song Dynasty like eight trigrams, with a gross area of about 90 mu (60,000 sq m), lying at the foot of Jade Emperor Hill (Yuhuang Hill). In four seasons, eight kinds of grains grow in the Eight-Diagran Field, presenting eight different colors. Apart from some historical relics, visitors can see beautiful rape flowers in spring.
